I  am happy to learn that World Bamboo Day and the North East International Bamboo Festival is being celebrated in Nagaland from 16th-18th September, 2010 under the aegis of the Government of Nagaland and the World Bamboo Organization. I understand that the Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre (CBTC) is bringing out a Special Edition of its newsletter - C & B News - to mark the occasion

I am glad to know that the Cane & Bamboo Technology Centre (CBTC), Guwahati is bringing out a special issue of its newsletter on the occasion of the celebration of the World Bamboo Day and the North East International Bamboo Festival between 16 and 18 September 2010 at Kisama (Kohima), Nagaland. It is appropriate that the Festival is being held in Nagaland for it is the largest producer of bamboo in the country with about 5% of the country's growing bamboo stock.

I am glad to know that World Bamboo Day is being celebrated along with the North East International Bamboo Festival from 16 - 18 September 2010 at Kisama, Kohima in Nagaland. Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre, Guwahati has very rightly decided to bring out a special issue of its news letter focusing the achievements of the National Bamboo Mission in this part of our country, on this occasion.
 
I appreciate this initiative and wish the celebration all success.

It gives me immense pleasure to know that the World Bamboo Organization, in association with Government of Nagaland is going to observe the World Bamboo Day along with the North East International Bamboo Festival from 16th to 18th September 2010 at Kisama, Kohima in Nagaland. I am sure that the festival will help in spreading the message of World Bamboo Day, which aims to generate overall awareness on bamboo in the society, its potential, avenues and awareness of the much needed efforts towards improving rural economy through the use of this green gold.
