A Training on innovative bamboo handicraft and furniture making was organized by CBTC at Cane and Bamboo Technology Park (CBTP), Burnihat, Assam from 8th April to 7th May, 2013. This training was sponsored by North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong.
A total of 25 trainees participated in the training which included 19 male and 6 female trainees. The trainees were mainly from the state of Assam, Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur, & Sikkim. These participants were nominated by Respective State Government Departments like Industries, Forest Department, State Bamboo Mission, Bamboo Development Agency and Also NGOs etc.
The training programme was mainly based on practical aspects about various techniques for manufacturing finished & semi-finished Bamboo handicraft, Bamboo Ornament & Furniture items.
