Consultative Meets on Agarbatti stick
A consultative meet was organized by CBTC in collaboration with ITC Agarbatti Division at the AIDC Conference Hall, Guwahati on 8th December 2009.
 
The main purpose of the meeting was to have a brainstorming exercise for the development of the agarbatti supply chain in the region. It is deduced that 70% to 80% of the stick used by the nation's agarbatti industry comes from North East region alone and the estimated market turnover is to the tune of Rs 1900 Crore growing @ 10% every year, providing livelihood to over 5 million people. The local players are dominating over 80% of the value as of now. The volume of ITC requirement is approximately 50 metric tonnes per month.
 
Besides the CBTC officials and Shri VM Rajsekharan, CEO, ITC and Shri C Srinivasan, Operations Manager, ITC Agarbatti Division, the meeting was attended by official delegatesfrom UNIDO,AIDC, and different state government organizations and other enterprises.
